Vintage Maryland Testudo Fight Song Tee
A Diamondback terrapin became the new University of Maryland mascot back in 1932 at the suggestion of football coach Dr. H. Curley Byrd. The official state reptile of Maryland, the terrapin is native to Chesapeake Bay, and the school paper was already named “The Diamondback.” This version of Testudo the Terrapin was familiar in the late 1930s, when student Ralph Davis was composing the Maryland Fight Song. You can still hear the words ring out in College Park, “Push up the score, keep on fighting for more. For Maryland, GO TERPS!”
Products are mocked up on a size S. Graphics may appear smaller on larger sizes.
