Vintage George Tirebiter USC Dog Mascot Heavyweight Tee
Famous for chasing cars through campus, George “Tirebiter” first appeared at USC football games in 1940. Endearing himself to Trojan fans by chasing Cal’s Oski bear mascot up a goalpost, biting UCLA’s Joe Bruin and leading the USC marching band onto the field at home games, he was named the university’s official mascot in 1947. He was succeeded by George II and George III, with the line of “Tirebiters” eventually being replaced by Traveler, the white Andalusian horse. In 2006, USC unveiled a statue celebrating the memory of their beloved dog mascots.
