“Modern” Joe Bruin was a core athletic logo for UCLA from 1996 through 2003, since the Bruins wanted to give their mascot a contemporary look and feel to fit the times. He was a Joe of all trades, illustrated playing football and basketball to integrate him with the UCLA brand. We contrasted old and (relatively) new in this design by adding vintage touches to modern Joe, including a script UCLA used far before this Joe Bruin existed.
