UCF Knights Vintage Citronauts Bomber Jacket
In UCF’s early days, university president Charles Millican and his brother-in-law, Norman Van Meter, created a mascot for the university that combined Florida’s citrus industry with the school's mission to train NASA and Cape Canaveral engineers. The result? A creature with the head of an alien and the body of an orange, named the “Citronaut.” Because the Citronaut was unpopular at the tie and retired almost immediately, this bomber jacket is our interpretation of what retro Citronauts memorabilia could have been, if he wasn't so ahead of his time.
