A true cowboy, Eaton had earned the nickname āPistol Peteā after winning a cavalry contest at Fort Gibson. The school officially adopted Pistol Pete as its mascot in 1958, and the rest is history. Brought to you in partnership with Oklahoma State's Old Central Collection.
