Alabama Crimson Tide Vintage Big Al Heavyweight Tee
We found this whimsical version of Big Al on a vintage pennant, complete with his sailor’s cap and bow tie. He wasn’t known as Big Al until 1979, when the costumed version of Al debuted at the 1979 Sugar Bowl. We’d say Big Al is good luck for the Tide – Alabama won a national championship four quarters after he debuted.
